MONDAY, FEBRUARY 14 - At Sea

It is a Valentines Day on the Mariner. We wake to bright sun shine, mild temperature, mostly calm seas and not too much wind for the first time in over a week. In fact, we have been at sea for seven days now. This is the longest we have had straight sea days...yes, Dick has cabin fever!
We head to breakfast and then on to Terry’s lecture on Montevideo and Phillip Hurst’s lecture on the "Japanese Imperial Family Since 1945". He has been doing lectures on sea days since Lima, but they have been political and not to our taste. He is a Brit who lives in Spain, his take on things has been s a bit different than ours. But the last two days he has done lectures on historical times and people, so we stay for his talk. It is interesting and worth the time.

Since it is nice outside, Dick goes up to the deck Barbeque for lunch and Carolyn joins him when she finds out there is no cold fruit soup in the Compass Rose.

Carolyn spends the afternoon working on the pictures so she can get the blog up to date. Even though Dick goes to Trivia, it is a lost cause today!

Ray Solarire, the CD, is doing a pre-dinner show tonight, "Creation." He is a great entertainer and uses his puppets in the show tonight. He has a wonderful voice and the puppet part of the show is really great!

Dinner and a Show has been going on in Signatures for about a week. It is a special menu dinner and then a private show by the Tenors Undercover in the Horizon Lounge. Carolyn made reservations a couple of weeks ago for tonight. It turns out to be a great way to celebrate Valentines Day. The meal is very good. All the ladies get a long stemmed red rose and the Tenors are very good. The whole event is very well done and a nice change of pace.

We have a 7:35 call for our tour tomorrow so after being wined and dinned, we are off the bed!
