With the curtains closed Carolyn sleeps in, but Dick hits the laundromat at 6:15AM and two of the washers are already going. Fortunately he only needs one! We go to breakfast at our usual time. It is a bright sunny day with calm seas. We are really lucky as we are in the middle of the Drake Passage.
At 9 :45AM Terry does a talk on the animals of Antarctica and the Falklands and includes the last of the film and photos from the Shackleton Expedition. Those were some tough men!
The seas stay calm until dinner time, but it gets very overcast as the day wears on. We are really hoping for good weather tomorrow as many ships have to cancel the stop at the Falklands due to wind and high seas.
Dick goes to Trivia and the team is third once again. This is getting old. They really need a Brit on the team!
We get a nice note from Peter and Karen Balas and are invited to join them for cocktails. Their daughter found our blog and told them about it. We have a pleasant visit and hope to visit with them again.
Dinner is very good tonight and our favorite waiter does a good job as always. We have the crab cakes, Caesar salad and prime rib with glasses of each of the Australian white and the South African red wines which are both very nice. As we eat the wind comes up, the ship starts rolling and by the end of dinner the fog horn is blowing.
Back in the cabin we see the wind is over 44mph or a fresh gale. I guess all we can do is hope for the best tomorrow in Port Stanley.
